Special Birthday

Hello lovely peeps, I hope you are all well.

We had a beautiful bank holiday weekend here in Somerset, I was so glad to see the sun after such a wet May. I had my second covid jab last Wednesday too, so all in all a fantastic week.

I made this card for a friend who turned 60 last week, using the 'Watercolour Poppy' stamp set from Inkylicious. I stamped with black Archival ink and coloured with watercolour paints.

Other Ingredients:
Pink Frog Watercolour Card
Large Birthday Sentiments (LOTV)
A5 landscape card blank (Anna Marie)

Cheerful Mother's Day

This is the card that I made for my lovely Mum for Mother's Day here in the UK today. I'm so looking forward to seeing her again when lockdown is over.

I got my inspiration for this card from Cindy Beach at Stamps, Paper and Ink but I did mine with stamping rather than stencilling. I just love the cheerful colours.

Watercolour die cuts

Hello lovely peeps, I hope you are well.

My craft room has been in a right mess for the last year and I keep trying to tidy it up - but then get distracted by finding something I'd forgotten I had, lol.  This time it was some spellbinder flower dies that I'd never used, so I thought I'd have a little play.

After cutting one out of watercolour card I painted it with distress ink dabbed onto my craft mat.

I used the swirly end of the thank you die as 'ribbon' to give the impression of tying the stems together.

Rose Vases for Craftascope

Hello lovely peeps, I hope you are well.

The lovely Nick Roberts is on Hochanda TV again today with a new collection of Craftascope stamps, dies and stencils. I've been having a play with the stamps, which he has designed in memory of his Nan.

Using the Lady Marjorie stamp set, coloured with Distress Inks onto watercolour card.
Triskaidecagon die used to trace the shape of the vase.

Floral Sympathy Card

Hello lovely peeps, and welcome to my two new followers.

This was a hard card to make because I wanted it to be perfect (which of course it isn't). One of my work colleagues lost her 14 year old daughter and everyone at work is heartbroken for her family.  This is the card I made for us all to sign.

7 Today for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps, and welcome to my two new email followers :o)

I'm continuing through my trawl of samples for Leonie that I never got around to blogging. This hanging was made with the Zentangle stamps from her first collection last year.

For the background I stamped some flowers from Tangled Tails onto circles of white card using 3 different inks:-
 Encore Ultimate Metallic 'Honeydew'
Fabriko 'Burgundy'
Brilliance 'Pearlescent Orchid'

The '7' and 'today' were cut on my CraftRobo from thin white card and I stamped all over the shapes with one of the flowers using Black Memento ink. I coloured around the flowers with Rose Pink Promarker before gluing them to their backgrounds.

I backed each circle onto a slightly larger pink scalloped circle and glued them back to back with pink organza ribbon sandwiched in between

I added a frame front and back using some 'Catalina Wreath' die-cuts (Memory Box) which I coloured with the Honeydew ink. The little flowers are pink sweetheart blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts - I twirled their wire stems around my pokey tool.

The piece is finished off with adhesive pink/green/clear gems

Flower Wreath for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

For todays make I used some of the gorgeous pre-coloured flowers on the Magic Garden CD from Polkadoodles.

I started off with one of the wreaths that I made from birch twigs 18 months ago

I printed off lots of flowers from the CD and cut them out with my Craft Robo. I shaped each one with a ball tool and poked holes in the centres before layering them up two at a time with mini black brads.

It was a bit awkward trying to arrange the flowers on the wreath as they kept falling off, so I cut a rough outline of the wreath out of black paper

Once I was happy with the layout I started glueing them all on with a hot glue gun.

Once that was done I wanted something to hang in the middle, so I picked one of the fab chalkboard sentiments on the CD.

I printed it off twice and cut them out (it's a nice easy shape to cut). I attached some fine thread in between the two layers which was then tied around the top of the wreath.

It's finished off with a loop of pink satin ribbon to hang it up with and a couple of pieces knotted around the wreath itself.

Watercolour Meadow

Hello peeps, hope you had a lovely weekend.

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Somerset so I thought I'd show you a bright cheerful card.

This was so simple to make but I love the effect, I got the idea from an old stamp brochure. I coaxed some wood mounted flower stamps out of hiding (these are all Hero Arts) and Distress Ink pads in various colours.

Just ink up the stamp and then spritz it a couple of times with a fine mist of water before stamping onto watercolour card.  Spritz again without re-inking to get even more of a watercolour effect.

I've finished off with a Crafters Companion butterfly (inked and spritzed using the same technique) and a Stamps Away sentiment stamped in black Memento. The doodled black border makes the colours pop a bit more.
