Hello lovely peeps
There's a new challenge at
Crafty Calendar today. The theme is
Kids/Babies
and we are sponsored by the fabulous
Wild Orchid Crafts.
For my inspiration card I have used
James Peeping from Lili of the Valley.
I stamped him onto Elegance Satin 160gsm card then fussy cut and coloured him in with Graph'It markers (3210, 3255, 0000).
To do the paper burst I pencilled in a circle on some double-sided card (Citronella from K&Co), 'painted' some lines in with water and then dragged my scissors down the lines to give rough edges.
After erasing the pencil circle I peeled back the edges to reveal the other side of the paper. I tore the points of the triangles off and curled what was left with my pokey tool.
For the sentiment I wanted to make little squares to echo the squares on the peeled back edges so I cut 2cm x 2cm squares from white card and rounded the corners before colouring them in to match the paper. The letters were stamped with Hobby Art's '
Alphabet - Typed' set and the 'birthday' was stamped straight onto the card with a Stamps Away greeting.
The American Crafts ribbon down the left hand side gives a better balance to the card I think.
To finish off James I added Glossy Accents on his nose :o)
Thanks for stopping by,
