Spring Walks

Hello lovely peeps

Some exciting news today - I am appearing as a Guest Designer at All Dressed Up. Woo hoo!
I love working with Wendy's images, they are great to colour. The sketchy style is right up my street and the older girl stamps in particular are very elegant. Of course I love all of the cute images too :o)

All Dressed Up very kindly sent me Spring Walks to play with. I printed it at 60% size onto Hunkydory 'Colour Me' card and coloured it with Promarkers and Flexmarkers
Grass: Pear Green, Lime Zest, Aniseed
Jeans: Duck Egg, Cool Aqua
Top/Flowers: 2140, Amber, Saffron
Skin: Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush
Hair: Cocoa, Cinnamon, Tan
Dogs: as per hair, plus Putty, Almond

I went around the edge of my card with my stab and stitch tool then joined up the dots with the fine end of a Tan Spectrum Aqua marker

The background paper is by BoBunny and the flowers were cut using Sheena's Honesty Die in white card and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from the Fancy Sayings stamp set from Clearly Besotted, stamped in Espresso Adirondack Ink.

Dreamcatcher for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps.

Leonie is back on our screens today with her fabulous products. Her shows are on Hochanda at 8am, 11am and 3pm and the team have all made some new samples.

The first show will be featuring Leonie's Stencils/Masks and doodle stamps so I wanted to show you a card that I made with the paisley feather in the Bohemian Doodles set (the one I used on my peacock card).

First I took a couple of spritzer bottles and made my own colour sprays. For the purple one I squeezed some 'Iris' Glitter Brush Pen (from Leonie's Wrapped Up set) into a bottle and added a few drops of water. The green I wanted to go with it was from a Brilliance Pearlescent inkpad - I dragged the ink pad over the lip of the bottle a few times before adding a little water.

After testing on some old newspaper I spritzed a couple of times onto watercolour card - I dried the first colour with my heat gun before spritzing the second colour to make sure they didn't get muddled.

Next I took the Dream stencil and spread some modelling paste through. You can just about make out the green sticky note that I used to mask off the centre of the D below. This was easily removed with my pokey tool before the paste started to dry.

Once this was dry I drew a small circle in pencil near the top of the card to start building my dreamcatcher - I used one of the circle dies from Leonie's Floral Bursts set.

Annoyingly the purple pigment seeped up through the paste as it dried, but I'll fix that later.

I took the net stamp from The Deep Blue clear stamp set and stamped at the top and bottom of the circle with Black Archival ink

then on the left and right edges

and then filled in the gaps

For the centre I pencilled in another small circle using the cap of an alcohol marker as a guide

and masked off the outer part of the dreamcatcher

I used the same stamp to build a pattern in the middle

and joined the lines up/doodled in a few extra circles with a black fineliner pen

Now for the dangly bits :D
I masked off the circle and stamped the feather from the Bohemian Doodles set underneath.

I added four in all, then coloured them in with a small paintbrush and the same inks I used for the background

There's a lovely dangly stamp in the The Deep Blue set, so I stamped this in between the feathers.

The tiny circles in the dreamcatcher were too small to colour with a paintbrush so I coloured them with the ends of a cocktail stick

To fix my blotchy texture paste I cut another mask for the middle of the 'D' and covered the background with the stencil again.

A sponging of white acrylic paint still didn't cover the purple, so I painted on some more of the green ink, making it lighter at the top.

I finished the card off with a doodled border and a smattering of purple pearls in the corner.

Flamingo Shaker Card

Hello lovely peeps

I'm back with the second shaker card that I started at cardmaking club on Thursday.

This was as far as I got initially :o)

The flamingo die was from a Chinese seller on ebay and I used it to cut an aperture in one of the papers in the First Edition Paradise Crush 8x8 paper pad.  I backed it with acetate and cut a slightly larger mat of a matching paper to frame it. It looked a bit busy with the pattern behind the aperture so I added a rectangle of white card before adding 2 layers of foam tape and pink sequins.

I picked out some more of the gorgeous papers to layer up a 7x7" card and cut flowers out of one of them to use as embellishments.

There are a couple of other papers in the pad that have butterflies and flamingos on, so I cut some of those out too. To match the lovely turquoise colour around the flamingo I cut some Bonnets and Bowties Solids paper with a Memory Box 'Tropical Leaf' die.

Patch and Puss shaker card

Hello lovely peeps, I hope you are having a great weekend.

The lovely Evelin was our hostess for the evening at cardmaking club on Thursday and we made shaker cards.

I had printed several papers from the Perfect Pair collection by Nitwit onto 250gsm card stock so I used a scalloped circle die to cut an aperture in one of them. I taped a square of acetate behind this and then stamped on one of the Tiny Phrases greetings by Woodware with Black Memento ink.

Next I layered up a 7x7" card with a couple more of the Nitwit papers and cut flowers from a third design to use as embellishments.

The image behind is from one of the retired Lili of the Valley Art Pads called Jack, Patch & Puss. After putting a double layer of foam tape all the way around the image I added sequins from my stash and some pink Stix2 beads into the 'well' before placing the acetate frame over the top.

I started on a second card after our cake interval (chocolate, yummy) but I didn't get to finish it so I'll show you that one later in the week after it's completed.

Hey There for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

I have another card from Leonie's TV shows to share today.

First I made the card background by sprinkling Violet, Purple and Rose Red Brusho powders onto some watercolour card and spritzing them with lots of water

For the top layer I arranged all of the heart dies from the Lots of Love set onto a magnetic sheet and ran them through my Ebosser with white card.

I stamped one of the text stamps in the Hey There Dreamer set with Black Memento ink all over the card and scribbled outlines around each heart aperture with a black fineliner pen.

I glued the Brusho background to an A5 landscape card and then attached the stamped card over the top with 3D foam pads.

The main sentiment is also from the Hey There Dreamer set, which I stamped onto a rectangle of white card and then drew on a black border. I covered the back with strong double-side tape and attached a length of black fibres all the way around.

If you like these stamps and dies then you might want to catch Leonie's shows on Hochanda on Thursday 15th June at 10am and 3pm. Just saying :o)

Wedding Hanging for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

I've got another make from the archives to show you today, made with Leonie Pujol's Off She Flew set and the Flights of Fancy Background

This is the top of the box

and here's the little hanging inside

To do the purple heart panels I tried a bit of kiss stamping - where you ink up one stamp with another.
I inked the solid heart from Off She Flew with Versamark and inked the Flights of Fancy Background with Black Memento, then pressed the background stamp onto the heart.

After stamping the heart onto some ivory patterned paper I then dabbed on some purple chalk.

and die-cut it into a circle.

Next I stamped the background again onto some ivory card and rubbed over with the chalk.

This was die-cut into a slightly larger circle to sit underneath the first one.

A die-cut circle of the same size from plain ivory card was used as a backing - I glued some pale purple organza ribbon in between the two larger circles.

After I had done four of these I made eight flowers with a Tim Holtz Tattered Floral punch, more ivory card and some stamens. I inked the edges of the petals with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

For the butterflies I stamped one of the images from the Flight to Freedom set onto white shrink plastic with black Stazon ink, then cut them out and heated to shrink.

For the panels on the hanging I stamped some of the word chains from Clarity Stamp, and the 'With Love' for the box lid was from Leonie's Off She Flew set

I'll be back in a few days with another oldie, but in the meantime don't forget to enter my giveaway if you'd like to win these goodies :o)

Patchwork Balloons for LOTV

Hello lovely peeps, and a very warm welcome to my 2 new followers.

The theme for this month's challenge at Lili of the Valley is 'Summer'. To enter you just need to make something with a LOTV image and add it to their Facebook page here.

For my inspiration card I've used a retired stamp called Patchwork Bunch of Balloons.

To make life easier for a change I picked my papers out before colouring my image. They are from the Butterfly Kisses paper pad (still available as digi papers at Nitwit)

I went around the edges with my stab and stitch tool

then drew in stitches with a pencil (Lyra Rembrandt)

For the trees at the bottom of the card I die-cut some stitched circles and then with the leftover scraps I cut little tree trunks and coloured them with a brown pen.

Next I stamped the Patchwork Balloons image onto watercolour card with Black Archival ink and coloured it in with Distress Markers before cutting it out
pumice stone
picked raspberry
worn lipstick

I stamped just the balloon part of the image onto more watercolour card

then coloured them in and cut them out (I used mowed lawn for the green highlights)
For the '50' balloon I stamped numbers from the Stitched Alphabet set (also retired) and added little strings with a black fineliner pen.

For the background behind the bear I cut a circle of white card and embossed it with the 8x8 Die'sire Embossalicious folder 'Clouds'

The card is finished off with a double bow of organza ribbon and some sweetheart blossom flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (the sentiment is from Handwritten Phrases by LOTV)

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
