Cake Mountain for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

It's challenge reminder time at Polkadoodles and as we are celebrating our 7th Birthday at the moment the theme this fortnight is 'Birthday Celebrations'

For my inspiration card I've chosen the digi stamp Birthday Rock Cake from the Sticks and Bones CD

I coloured her in with Promarkers and Graph'Its and then fussy-cut around her.
Hair: 3210, 3245, 3250
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170
Eyes: Meadow Green
Hat: Ice Grey 1-4 and Pastel Beige
Dress: 1210, 1230, 1270
Cake: 3110, 2130, 5210, Tulip Yellow

My cake mountain is hand-drawn onto one of the Animal Print papers that I thought looked a bit like currants :)  I inked the edges with distress ink and then added some hand-doodled icing (I just drew large versions of the icing swirls from the small cake)

The grass is cut from one of the lovely Texture papers on the CD using a Die-sire Icicle die and the background paper & sentiment are also from the CD. The flowers were cut from white card coloured with Graph'It marker 5210 using a Papermania punch and I drew on the stems with a black fineliner pen.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Glitter n Sparkle #189 Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart #113 Anything Goes (Always)
Paper Shelter Challenge #250 Make it digital
Star Stampz Challenge  Hand coloured image

A little note for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

Sorry I've been absent all week. I've been planning ahead and doing some DT cards for next month and I can't show you the other cards I've made until people have received them.

I have a little bit of news to share with you before I show you today's card.

You may have seen that I've been a Guest Designer over at Polkadoodles for the last 2 months.

They are a fantastic team and I have really enjoyed my GDT stint, but it has now come to an end

And they have asked me to become a full Design Team member.

Whoop whoop!

It's not my turn to post a card for the team until next week, so I've done a quick little extra one to show my appreciation.

I printed the gorgeous Oddella Heart digi onto some Hunkydory 'Colour Me' card and coloured her in with Graph'It markers.

She's holding a heart but I wanted her to hold a sentiment instead so I cut around the outside of her hands

and inserted a piece of card with my stamped sentiment on it (from the Sensational Sentiments stamp sheet).

I cut down a paper from the Sticks and Bones CD with a 'Stitched Landscapes' die from Poppystamps (which happily fell through my letterbox this morning) and tied some hemp cord around it.

And here is my finished card, complete with little blue birds of happiness :D

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Have a Grrreat Birthday for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

It's challenge reminder time at Polkadoodles where I am in my second month as a Guest Designer.
How grrreat is that? :D

The theme during this fortnight is Tic-tac-toe

I have gone for the top row - Charms, Animals, Sentiment
The tiger image is a pre-coloured digi from the Sticks and Bones CD and I fussy cut around him before adding him on top of the papers. The dinosaur skull background was printed straight from the CD but the tiger skin paper was adjusted in Craft Artist to make it more fuzzy*. The lettering was done with MSE Retro Alphabet stamps and black Memento ink.

* Go to Photo Lab -> Adjustments -> Dust and Scratch Remover
and change the threshold to 62

I have some cat-themed charms in my stash and I have used the little cat face (it was very tempting to go for 'meow' but the tiger gave me a look so I decided against it).

I could only find tiny black pearls in my stash so I coloured some larger brown pearls in with a black alcohol marker and left them to dry on the sheet for a few minutes before attaching them to my card.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Oddball Art Stamps  Add a Sentiment
Creative Moments #86 Always Anything Goes/ optional twist use a sentiment on front of project
Lemon Shortbread #10 Anything Goes
Melonheadz Friends Challenge ADD/INCLUDE AN ANIMAL

Driving Test for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps.

I'm very excited to be back at Polkadoodles today with my second card as a Guest Designer. The challenge theme for the next fortnight is 'Lucky Green' so I have made a 'good luck with your driving test' card.

I have used images and papers from the new 'Sticks and Bones' CD. It's fabulous - full of lovely 'prehistoric' images and funny sentiments.

The main image of the girl on the tortoise is called 'Riding High'. I used the pre-coloured version and cut it out with my Craft Robo.  The background is one of the scenes on the CD and I have added an arrow and bones from the embellishments section to make the 'road'.

There are lots of fab background papers on the CD but I wanted something to echo the pattern on the  tortoise's shell, with colours to match. I opened the green gingham paper in CraftArtist 2 and clicked on 'Photo Lab' then I had a play with the 'Roman Bath' effect (under 'Fun stuff'). It extracts the colours in the image to make a lovely mosaic print.

For the sentiment I printed off the scrabble letters from Work & Play 9 - Love & Kisses. I printed them in A5 size as I had a lot of letters to fit in :)  They are attached with silicone glue for a bit of dimension.
I've added green gingham ribbon with a leaf from the embellishments section, and flowers cut from purple glitter card using a Papermania punch.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Hiding In My Craft Room #237 - No Pinks or Reds!
Craft your passion - #298 Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Card - Anything goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers #102 Anything goes
Crafting by designs (monthly) - Anything Goes in February
Sisters of Craft - Anything goes
Southern Girls - Anything Goes
SSS Work it Wednesday - use something NEW (Sticks & Bones CD)

Please pop on over to Polkadoodles if you can to see more inspiration from the fabulous team.
Thank you for stopping by today,
Katrina x
