Snowflake Stocking for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps, and a very warm welcome to my new followers.

Just popping in to tell you that the lovely Leonie Pujol is launching some new stamps and embossing folders tonight at 8pm on Hochanda. I don't have any samples from the new launch to show you as I am still on a break following my elbow op. However I have it on good authority that the new products will go very well with the Christmas Entwined Dies :D

This is one of the samples I made for the launch of the dies

To start off I blended some Peeled Paint distress ink over a 7"x7" piece of Sheena's stamping card, then flicked a wet paintbrush over it and blotted with kitchen towel. I stamped the stocking border stamp over the card several times using black Memento ink and then stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Greetings set onto a scrap of white card and cut it up. I drew lines on with a black fineliner so it looks as if the sentiment is hanging from the stocking washing line.

To do the stocking I used Leonie's Snowflake Base Die to cut some snowflakes from off-white card, and glued  them onto burgundy card stock

I then cut this into a stocking shape using a Sizzix Bigz die

and ran it through my ebosser with a Sizzix embossing folder called 'Happy' to get a knitted effect

I've finished off with some adhesive gems and velvet ribbon.

My teamies Nick Roberts, Jane Royston, Elaine Mellor, and Natalie Ellis
will be blogging some of their makes at 8pm tonight to coincide with the launch.

Leonie will also be back on Hochanda tomorrow (Thursday 6th October) at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm.
You can watch Hochanda live online, Sky channel 663, Freeview 85 or Freesat 817.

Peaceful Poinsettias for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

Today I've got a simple to make card, using Leonie's Entwined Cross dies.

First I cut the Cross Circle Heart out of olive green card then covered another piece of card with double-sided adhesive before cutting out the Cross Base and the 'Peace' die (from the Tree Frost set).

After removing the top carrier sheet I sprinkled on Gold Tinsel embossing powder (Docrafts). However I did not melt it as it looks fab just out of the tub

I used the same technique on my Snow card - the embossing powder on the wording is unmelted chunky white from Stampendous

I entwined the glittered base with the circle cross

and glued it onto my card (which was covered with some First Edition paper)

I made white poinsettias with a Marianne die and green/white card, finished off with Creative Expressions dazzlers for the centres.

Entwined Cross for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

I'm back with another card using Leonie's Entwined dies. For this one I have used the Cross Base and the Cross Swirls.

To start off I dabbed some pumice stone and aged mahogany distress inks onto my craft mat, then spritzed with water and dragged some watercolour card through it.
I cut an aperture out of this with the Cross Base die.

I scored a line down the left hand side, leaving a flap to fold over. I glued this to another square of card to make my own card base.

To make a frosty window pane I sponged some white gesso over a piece of acetate, then glued this inside my aperture.

I cut the Cross Base again with dark grey card and glued the small outline on top of the 'frosted glass'

I inked another panel of watercolour card the same as above and stamped several snowflakes on with pumice stone ink. I flicked a little diluted aged mahogany ink on with my fingers.

This went on the inside of the card to hide the join and I stamped a greeting in the corner.

I coloured some white cord with a grey alcohol marker and wrapped it around the spine of the card then added the Cross Swirls die-cut from dark grey card, entwined with the larger outline from the Cross Base cut in silver mirri card.

I cut a Snowflake Base from stamping card and coloured it using the same technique as Iused for the background.

This was entwined around the cord on the front of the card

Paper Penguins for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

I hope you managed to catch Leonie's launch show last night, she showed you how the entwining bits of her new collection worked together. There are more fab demos on at 9am, 12, 4 and 7pm.

So, onto my favourite sample out of the ones I made

To start, I cut down a small panel of Sheena's stamping card and blended on some tumbled glass, broken china and iced spruce Distress Inks

Flick water at it from your fingertips and dab with kitchen roll after a few seconds to remove the water.

Do three more of these, place them together, and stamp the swirls from 'Swirls and Flakes' over the top using Black Memento ink

Stamp lines of the hearts from the same set along the bottom of the panels.

Colour the hearts in with a white gel pen.

Now stamp one of the 'Christmas Greetings' stamps onto a strip of white card

then cut up the individual words and doodle outlines on with a black fineliner pen

Arrange them on the panels until they're how you like them

Next, cut down some A4 black card to 10cm x 29.5cm and score into four equal sections.
Add a coloured panel to each of the four sections.

Create another couple of panels using the same method as above and add parts of the Entwined Snowflakes Base die-cut with white card.

Attach a long length of ribbon to the back of these extra panels and glue them onto the back of the first and last sides of our little 'book'.

Fold the 'book' up and wrap the ribbon round a couple of times before tying the ends into a bow.

And I almost stopped there, but going back to it the next day, I felt that it needed a bit of a focal point.

Enter the penguins....

First I stamped the oval frame from the 'Love and Joy' stamp set onto a heavyweight white paper using Black Archival ink and then cut it out - you need to do this four times.

Cut two of them in half lengthways and cut a bit more off each half to make the inside edges curve a little so they look like flippers.

Cut a strip of yellow card and lay across the middle of Entwined Cross Base die before cutting out. Also cut the tip of the leaf from Leonie's Mixed Media dies.

Along with a circle of black card and a black pearl, you can now assemble your penguin.

I had to chop their feet off a little to get them to fit on the panels, but I'm so chuffed at how this turned out.

Winter Antlers for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

Woo hoo! It's new launch time - Leonie is on Hochanda TV with a fab new set of Entwined dies and some lovely stamps to go with them.

The first card I wanted to show you is using the 'Entwined Christmas Tree- Frost' die. This is a beautiful design but if you've been following me for a while you'll know that I often find other ways of using things, so I've not used it as a tree at all. If you turn it upside down it looks like fancy antlers :D

To start off my card I painted a square of black cardstock with white gesso, leaving some thinner patches for interest.

Next I 'painted' part of a Claritystamp deer with a black Spectrum Aqua marker

and stamped it onto my background.

Next I cut a wavy shape in a piece of copy paper with my craft knife to use as a mask

and used a sponge and Distress Ink to add hills

There's a cute little fir tree at the bottom of the 'Christmas Cheer' stamp so I inked that up with black memento ink (I used post-it notes to mask off the rest of the stamp)

This was stamped several times over my 'landscape'

I stamped lots of snowflakes from the 'Swirls and Flakes' set around the edges of my card, using second, third and fourth generation ink.

To do the deer's antlers I cut the 'Frost' die from silver mirri card and snipped off the tree top, leaving me two lovely swirly bits. I glued them on top of the deer's head with cosmic shimmer glue and layered it onto a 7"x7" card with some papers from the Wild at Heart paper pad from Trimcraft.

For the sentiment I cut the 'Winter' die from white centura pearl and stamped 'Wishes' from a previous stamp set (Flight to Freedom) onto a circle of the same card. They're layered up onto the base card with strips of two more of the papers.
