Mythical Creatures

Hello lovely peeps

It's the first Saturday of the month so it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar. Our theme this month is "Mythical Creatures".

We have two fab sponsors for January:-

For my inspiration card I've used the beautiful Lucky Wishes from A Day for Daisies.

I pulled the black and white image into CraftArtist and used the Cutout Tool to remove the white background The decorative paper was a combination of two which I tinted pink and made 50% transparent so they would blend together.

After printing the project onto 300gsm watercolour card I coloured the image with Distress Inks and a damp paintbrush
hair:- tea dye, skin:- tattered rose, clover:- mowed lawn

I coloured the wings initially with 'picked raspberry' then added Glamour Dust glitter with a Quickie glue pen. Unfortunately I made a right botch of it when I tried adding more colour after the glue and glitter had gone on.

Luckily the wings were nice and easy to cut out so I just printed them off again onto 160gsm watercolour paper and coloured the second lot with diluted 'black soot' DI. I was a bit more sparing with the glitter second time around :o)

Other ingredients:-
more watercolour card
black card
Sizzix Debi Potter brush alphabet dies

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Crafty Catz #398 AG opt twist add sparkle after Christmas
Shopping Our Stash #335 watercolour
Watercooler Wednesday  #151 feminine
Polkadoodles   Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by,
Katrina x

What a beautiful image, Katrina! Love the blended background. It really adds a feminine touch to the already very feminine little fairy. You've done a lovely job colouring her and the second try at the wings worked beautifully. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
