Hello lovely peeps
The men in flat caps from Lili of the Valley are my favourite images to use for men's cards and I was delighted when I managed to get hold of the clear stamp versions of their latest release.
I stamped the 'Racing Green' image onto watercolour card with grey memento ink and coloured in with distress markers, using some water to draw out the colour.
Once the main image was dry I worked on the background.
First I dabbed some distress inks onto my craft mat (Evergreen Bough, Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive), and then I 'painted' the treeline using just water at first. Next I used a damp paintbrush to transfer ink from my mat into the wet areas on the card.
The middle ground was just Crushed Olive ink with lots of water added to dilute the colour before painting onto the card. I probably should have waited until the treeline was dry because it bled in a couple of places but it doesn't look too bad..
I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:-
Watercooler Wednesday #321 all things masculine
Moving along with the Times #133 summer fun and/or summer colours
