Jasmine Laptop

Hello lovely peeps

I've got another sneaky peek to share with you today using the lovely 'Jasmine Laptop' stamp that is being launched at Lili of the Valley on Thursday.

I coloured her in with Promarkers and Graph'Its

For the sentiment I've stamped one of the 'Just to Say' sentiments onto shrink plastic with black Archival ink. Make sure to punch a hole in it before you shrink it :)

The blackboard backing paper is from Polkadoodles Work and Play 3 CD (it goes with the teacher digi)

I made my own revision timetable with the Calendar embossing folder set from Cuttlebug.

First ink the inside front of the folder that has the days of the week on it (with black Memento ink) and then run it through your embossing machine.

I just used plain white card with the grid folder and then added some coloured  blocks with different alcohol markers. I scribbled on some 'revision subjects' using a black fineliner pen.

This didn't half bring back memories of my school days. I think I used to spend more time making & re-doing my revision timetable than I did actually revising :D

A little note for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

Sorry I've been absent all week. I've been planning ahead and doing some DT cards for next month and I can't show you the other cards I've made until people have received them.

I have a little bit of news to share with you before I show you today's card.

You may have seen that I've been a Guest Designer over at Polkadoodles for the last 2 months.

They are a fantastic team and I have really enjoyed my GDT stint, but it has now come to an end

And they have asked me to become a full Design Team member.

Whoop whoop!

It's not my turn to post a card for the team until next week, so I've done a quick little extra one to show my appreciation.

I printed the gorgeous Oddella Heart digi onto some Hunkydory 'Colour Me' card and coloured her in with Graph'It markers.

She's holding a heart but I wanted her to hold a sentiment instead so I cut around the outside of her hands

and inserted a piece of card with my stamped sentiment on it (from the Sensational Sentiments stamp sheet).

I cut down a paper from the Sticks and Bones CD with a 'Stitched Landscapes' die from Poppystamps (which happily fell through my letterbox this morning) and tied some hemp cord around it.

And here is my finished card, complete with little blue birds of happiness :D

Bunny with grapes for LOTV

Hello lovely peeps

Here's my second LOTV Design Collective card for March

I've used another one of the returning favourite stamps, this one is Get Well Bunny. Poor thing, needs to drink up her carrot juice and get better.

I've coloured her in with Promarkers and Graph-It pens. I kept the bedding white because this card is going off to my cousin who is currently in hospital with pneumonia. Hope you're better soon hunny bun xx

I added Glossy Accents to the bottle and medicine for a bit of shine.

I've made my own background by stamping onto a plain-ish patterned paper (First Edition).
To make the bunches of grapes I first punched a small circle from foam - this was my stamp.
Next I spread some purple acrylic paint onto a piece of cut and dry foam with a palette knife - this was my ink pad.

I then stamped several circles together in a vaguely bunch-of-grapes-shape. The stem was painted in with green acrylic by just flicking my paintbrush upwards. I repeated this a few times to make a pattern.

To distress the edges a bit I stamped randomly around the outside with black Memento ink on a crackeglaze stamp (IndigoBlu)

I've finished off with flowers cut using Tim Holtz's tattered flower punch/strip die.

Washing Day for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps.

It's time for a new challenge at Polkadoodles. The theme for the next fortnight is Spring Pastels.

First I covered my A5 card with a paper from the Pretty Sweet CD.  Next I printed off two versions of Rosie Washing Day from the Cherryblossom Lane CD. One has a fence in the background so I used that for my first layer. The other is plainer so I was able to trace around it with my Craft Robo software for printing and cutting.  I also printed and cut some extra roses and decoupaged all the elements on top of the background.

For the sentiment topper I've used two stamps from the Sensational Sentiments stamp sheet. I inked up the scalloped circle with Versamark (to make it nice and sticky) and then Dried Marigold Distress Ink over the top (for colour). After stamping onto white card I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set. I stamped a greeting in the middle with black memento ink and cut the whole thing out with an X-cut circle die. I've attached it to my card with a mini wooden peg.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Spring Challenge at Lili of the Valley

Hello lovely peeps

There's a Spring Challenge running over on the Lili of the Valley Facebook page at the moment. It's running until 6pm on Sunday 13th April so you still have plenty of time to enter - you just need to make something 'springy' with a LOTV image.

There are some fab prizes on offer for 5 winners that we will pick at random. The first 4 will have the choice of any of the following;
Any 2 sentiment sheets or
any 5 rubber stamps or
any Cross Stitch Kit or
£20 to spend in our Ebay Store (where there are still many die cut sheets and toppers)

The lovely Ribbon Girls have also offered a fab £10 voucher, thank you Mary and Andrea x www.ribbongirl.co.uk

For my card I've used one of the gorgeous stamps that was re-released  recently. There are 14 returning favourites -  available again for a limited time only. This one is Spring Bunny with Daffs

I've coloured him in with Promarkers
Bunny - Tan, March Hare, Satin, Blush, Khaki, Pastel Beige
Daffs - Apple Cider, Lime Zest, Mustard, Daffodil Bloom, Ice Grey 1

The background was done with a Sizzix embossing folder called 'Happy' and the greeting is from the LOTV For You Circular Sentiments set. I've glued some coco fibre behind it along with some foliage cut from some old My Minds Eye papers.

For the bottom of my easel card I've used part of a retired stamp called 'Leap Frog', stamped directly onto yellow ombre paper and coloured in. The flower and stamens are from Wild Orchid Crafts - I coloured the stamens with a promarker to match the centres of the daffs.

Happy Mothers Day for Crafty Calendar

Hello peeps

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar today. This month's theme is

Mum's Day/Special Female

We have 2 fabulous sponsors this time. You could win 3 images from A Day for Daisies OR a £10 voucher at Wild Orchid Crafts

For my card I have used a beautiful image from ADFD called Two Girls and Mom

I started by printing the image onto Neenah Solar Card and again onto copy paper.
I cut the copy paper version out and put zig 2-way glue on the back so I could use it as a mask.

Next I took a Hero Arts flower stamp and coloured directly onto it in with the brush nibs of my Spectrum Aqua pens - this first colour is Purple, with some Meadow in the centre. I stamped the first impression onto copy paper as I didn't want the colour to overpower the main image. I spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped onto my project - I did this a couple of times without reinking my stamp.

After repeating this with different colours (Heather, Peacock Blue, Aquamarine, Spun Sugar DI) I then removed the mask and coloured in the image with Graph'It markers

Skin: 4115, 4155
Hair: 3210, 3255, 3190  / 1210, 1230, 1270 /  3210
Dresses: 6130 / 7105 / 4115, 4135

I hand-scribbled the greeting on (scary) after a couple of practice goes and added a border around the whole card. I ummed and aahed at this point whether to scribble lines around all of the flowers to fit in with scribbly look of the stamp.  Not wanting to ruin it (obvs),  I tried adding lines to a couple of the flowers I'd stamped onto copy paper (when I was getting rid of the first layer of ink). They looked good but I didn't think it would work with the paler colours of my background so I just cut the copy paper versions out and added them as 'embellishments'.

Have a Grrreat Birthday for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely peeps

It's challenge reminder time at Polkadoodles where I am in my second month as a Guest Designer.
How grrreat is that? :D

The theme during this fortnight is Tic-tac-toe

I have gone for the top row - Charms, Animals, Sentiment
The tiger image is a pre-coloured digi from the Sticks and Bones CD and I fussy cut around him before adding him on top of the papers. The dinosaur skull background was printed straight from the CD but the tiger skin paper was adjusted in Craft Artist to make it more fuzzy*. The lettering was done with MSE Retro Alphabet stamps and black Memento ink.

* Go to Photo Lab -> Adjustments -> Dust and Scratch Remover
and change the threshold to 62

I have some cat-themed charms in my stash and I have used the little cat face (it was very tempting to go for 'meow' but the tiger gave me a look so I decided against it).

I could only find tiny black pearls in my stash so I coloured some larger brown pearls in with a black alcohol marker and left them to dry on the sheet for a few minutes before attaching them to my card.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Oddball Art Stamps  Add a Sentiment

Dandelion Love

Hello lovely peeps

Today's card is a quick Mother's Day idea using a stamp called Dandelion 'Love' from The Crafthouse Press. I bought this stamp about 3 years ago thinking it would be ideal for Mother's Day cards. And yes, you guessed it, this is the first time it's been out of the packet.

I coloured the image in with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils and cut it out.
Brown ochre 82, Vermillion 17, White 1, Medium Grey 97
It's layered onto some First Edition paper and Daisytrail digi paper (Butterfly collection)
The sentiment was done with two different Lili of the valley sentiments (Handwritten Phrases and Simply Sophisticated )

The flowers are punched out with a tiny Tonic punch. For the centres I've doodled in circles & coloured with a white gel pen. I drew on the stems & leaves too with a black fineliner pen.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Sweet Stampin Mother's Day (or Special Lady)
C.R.A.F.T. #352 Mother's Day/Female
