Cheerful Mother's Day

This is the card that I made for my lovely Mum for Mother's Day here in the UK today. I'm so looking forward to seeing her again when lockdown is over.

I got my inspiration for this card from Cindy Beach at Stamps, Paper and Ink but I did mine with stamping rather than stencilling. I just love the cheerful colours.

Mother's Day Daisies

My penultimate Mother's Day card for you today. I can't share my last one until Sunday because my Mum follows my blog (hello Mum!) :D

I've used one of the Daisy Elegance stamps by Tracey Evans for Aall & Create, stamped up with different shades of green distress inks. The background was done with distress oxides smooshed onto watercolour card.

Mother's Day Wildflowers

Morning everyone and welcome to my three new followers.

With one week to go until Mother's Day here in the UK I thought I'd better get on and show a couple more cards that I made for the occasion.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello lovely peeps

I made a few different versions of these as I didn't have a great deal of time to make them and my mojo went on a break. This one was my favourite because of how one of the shrink plastic butterflies turned out.

Happy Mothers Day for Crafty Calendar

Hello peeps

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar today. This month's theme is

Mum's Day/Special Female

We have 2 fabulous sponsors this time. You could win 3 images from A Day for Daisies OR a £10 voucher at Wild Orchid Crafts

For my card I have used a beautiful image from ADFD called Two Girls and Mom

I started by printing the image onto Neenah Solar Card and again onto copy paper.
I cut the copy paper version out and put zig 2-way glue on the back so I could use it as a mask.

Next I took a Hero Arts flower stamp and coloured directly onto it in with the brush nibs of my Spectrum Aqua pens - this first colour is Purple, with some Meadow in the centre. I stamped the first impression onto copy paper as I didn't want the colour to overpower the main image. I spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped onto my project - I did this a couple of times without reinking my stamp.

After repeating this with different colours (Heather, Peacock Blue, Aquamarine, Spun Sugar DI) I then removed the mask and coloured in the image with Graph'It markers

Skin: 4115, 4155
Hair: 3210, 3255, 3190  / 1210, 1230, 1270 /  3210
Dresses: 6130 / 7105 / 4115, 4135

I hand-scribbled the greeting on (scary) after a couple of practice goes and added a border around the whole card. I ummed and aahed at this point whether to scribble lines around all of the flowers to fit in with scribbly look of the stamp.  Not wanting to ruin it (obvs),  I tried adding lines to a couple of the flowers I'd stamped onto copy paper (when I was getting rid of the first layer of ink). They looked good but I didn't think it would work with the paler colours of my background so I just cut the copy paper versions out and added them as 'embellishments'.
