Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hello lovely peeps.

This cutie is called Hey Little Birdie, it's a digistamp from Sugar Nellie.

I've coloured her in with mostly Graph'It markers:-
Skin - 4120, 4135, 4155
Hair - 3210, 3245
Dress - 5210, 5220, 5440, 5245
Coat - Marvy YG642 & blender
 Fur - 9500
Ground - 9201, 9203

The flowers were cut from red paper with the Tattered Flower Garland die from Sizzix and the 'Robin & Mistletoe' ribbon is by Berties Bows. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

I'll be back on 2nd January with my card for Crafty Calendar Challenge.

Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas.

Oddella

Hello peeps, hope you are all having a good weekend.

I've had a play with a digi stamp from Polkadoodles that I won in a challenge recently.
She's called Oddella Fairy, isn't she gorgeous?

I made this with the intention of using it for a Winter birthday but she would work as a Christmas card too (I'm bound to have forgotten someone, so it's always handy to have a spare or two)

I coloured her in with my Promarkers:-
Hair: Umber, Khaki, Pastel Beige
Skin: Almond and Oatmeal
Wings/Crown/Tights: Ice Grey 1-4
Skirt: Bluebell and Ice Grey 3

To put the card together I used the current sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I've used a poinsettia die in place of the star and the background panels are wired gold  ribbon (I folded the ends over for a neat edge as it was impossible to get a nice edge by cutting it).

I added a bit of glitter to her skirt and embellished her crown with some iridescent adhesive gems.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Countdown to Candy

Hello lovely peeps, welcome to my 100th post. Yay!

To celebrate this momentous occasion (!) I will be posting some blog candy this evening, so don't forget to come back later.

But first, here is today's post.
This is the advent calendar I made for a recent competition entry.

I started off with a cardboard box that I saved from when I bought some LOTV Art Pads.

I painted it all over with some white gesso and then covered it with some decorative papers (all edged with Frayed Burlap DI).

There was already a slot in the base, so I cut a 'tab' into another piece of cardboard for the upright.

I coloured in the adorable 'James in the snow' stamp (from Lili of the Valley, retired) with my Promarkers and fussy cut around him.
Fur: Pastel beige, Khaki, Umber
Hat: Ice Grey1 , Ice Grey 2,  9100 (Graph'It)

To make the flip calendar I cut rectangles of card, covered them with co-ordinating papers and added numbers that were cut with a QuickKutz alphabet die. I used my Cinch to punch holes along the top of each 'page' and bind it.

I added some ribbon (from my stash) and tumble drier sheet for texture

To create the flower I dabbed Versamark ink onto some old skeleton leaves and covered them with white embossing powder.

I glued the flip calendar onto the background board to make it more stable.

Then I realised that it would no longer fit into the base for storage. Oops.

Skating Fun

Hello lovely peeps

Another snowy acetate card today. My texture paste came out a bit bumpy this time but as I'd already folded the acetate I couldn't use the reverse side. Hey ho.

This time I've used a rubber stamp - Skating Fun from LOTV (retired).
I've coloured it in with a mix of Promarkers and Graph'Its
Fur: Ice Grey 1-4,
Bunny's Ears: Budding Rose
Scarf: 9504, 5245
Ice: 9100
Outline: 7105

The 'ice rink' has been covered with Glossy Accents and I sprinkled Glamour Dust on it while it was wet.
I stamped the greeting along the top and then cut a wavy line with my craft knife to match. The stars are cut from blue glitter card with an X-Cut die. The silver striped card is from the 'Silent Night' paper pad by First Editions/Trimcraft

Snowman Serenade

Hello lovely peeps, hope you are well.

Here's my first December card for LOTV, using 'Snowman Serenade'. I had to have this stamp - the idea of carolling snowmen really tickled me, plus I love a good old sing-song (in a big crowd so my voice gets drowned out blends in).

I've coloured the image in with Graph'It markers
Lantern and Carrots: 1210, 1230, 1270
Snow: 9500, 9501
Stones: 9506
Scarves: 7105

LOTV's Christmas Wishes A5 stamp set is really useful as there is a whole range of sentiments on it in different fonts and it includes 6 lines from Christmas carols.  I chose 'Tis the Season to be Jolly' because the snowmen look like they're having a fab time.

The papers are from the Winter Wishes 8x8 paper pad and I covered the bottom of the card with cotton wool dressing. I cut the 'Fa la la la la' out of silver mirri card using my Craft Robo.

Well I'm very happy today - it's 25 years since hubby and I got together,  9131 blissful days.

The stamp is called 'Peekaboo' from Lili of the Valley (retired).
I've coloured it in with Graph'It markers (Pink Greys and Warm Greys)  plus an Ivory promarker.

Let it Snow for Crafty Calendar Challenge

Hello lovely peeps, hope you are well. Welcome to my new followers, I'm delighted to have you here :)

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar today and the theme is 'Let It Snow'. We have two fab sponsors this month:-

Di's Digi Stamps

and

 Fabrika Fantasy

"We are a small creative team writing and illustrating fantasy adventure and children's books. We love to draw fun and amusing characters, and are happy to offer them to you as digital stamps. We hope you like these digital images and they help make your creations bright, interesting and memorable!"

For my inspiration card I have used 'Not a creature was stirring' from Di's Digis

 How cute is this?!

This was a lovely stamp to colour in. I used my Graph'It markers for the image but did an outline around everything with Ivory promarker.
Snow: 9500
Pine cone: 3210, 3245, 3250, 3270
Pine needles: 8245, 8280, 8290
Mice: 9402, 9403, 4120, 4145 & blender
Santa hat: 5210, 5220, 5245 and 9500, 9501, 9502

I've also added a bit of Glamour Dust to the snow.

For the card base I have dabbed white texture paste on a folded sheet of acetate with the handle of a paintbrush and just left it to dry.

The poinsettia is from an old Christmas card and I've attached some snowflakes (Rob Addams) and foliage (Marianne Creatables) die-cuts underneath it

Molly the Optimist

Hello lovely peeps, hope you are well.

I'm feeling old  ;D

Today's card is for my beautiful, clever and charming niece who will be 18 at the weekend.

The stamp is called 'Opal the Optimist', from Stamping Bella. There is a lovely sentiment with it which I have put on the inside of the card:-

'May your glass always be half full'

I hasten to add that this is a wish that her future will be full of happy & wonderful things, as opposed to suggesting she is going to be an alcoholic :)

I have coloured Opal/Molly in with my Graph'It markers:-

The '18' stamp is by Woodware and I have paper pieced it with Romance and Roses papers from Nitwit. The flowers in the corner are from the same 'kit'.

For the layout I've used a sketch from the current challenge at Creative Inspirations
and also I've taken inspiration for the wording from DT Kat's gorgeous card.

Skiddy Skates

Hello lovely peeps, hope you are well.

Here's my second November card for LOTV (in the nick of time!!)

This is 'Skiddy Skates'. He's normally holding a bunch of holly but I've cut around that bit and given him a sign to hold instead. The papers are from the 'Winter Wishes' 8x8 paper pad and the greeting is from the 'Christmas Wishes' clear stamp set. I've picked a suitably ambiguous greeting so this card would do for a winter birthday or Christmas.

I've coloured him in with my Graph'It markers (and a couple of Le Plumes for the blue)
Hat, scarf & gloves: B711, B715
Jumper: 3210, 9403, 9404
Trousers: 9501, 9502, 9503
Skates: 9401, 9402, 9404, 9405
Skin: 4150

The sign is just a strip and rectangle of white card with wiggly lines drawn around the edges. I cut a line between his thumb and fingers to slot the handle into before glueing his arm down. The trees are cut from another 'Winter Wishes' paper using a Sizzix die and edged with Antique Linen DI.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Antipodean Christmas

Hello peeps, hope you are well.

Today I have my first Design Collective card for November.

I have a cousin who lives in New Zealand with her family and they sometimes get to spend Christmas at the seaside, because of course it's summer over there in December (OK, I'm a teensy bit jealous).

With that in mind I usually send Christmas cards with parcels etc. on rather than snow scenes.
When the Lili of the Valley Calendar Fairies were launched in the summer I thought that 'August' would make a great Christmas fairy for my cousin's card. So here she is, with her festive red bathing suit.

I found some ideal Christmas papers in my stash as they have hints of gold and aqua in them to match the sand and sea (they're from Dovecraft, about 3 years old). I also added a turquoise paper from the Beach Bliss 8x8 paper pad (LOTV).

I've coloured August in with my Graph'It markers

Sea: 7210
Sand: Ivory Promarker & 1210
Bathing Costume: 5210, 5220,5245, 9500
Hair: 3210, 3255
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170
Shell: 9401, 9304, Budding Rose Promarker

Festive Foliage

Hello peeps, hope you are all well.

Just a quick card today featuring one of the gorgeous Art Pads from Lili of the Valley. This image is from the 'Festive Foliage' set and has been matted and layered onto crimson card and a paper from the 'Twas the Night' 8x8 pad. The sentiment is from the 'Christmas Wishes' clear stamp set. I got the wired ribbon a few years back in one of our local discount stores.

There is an amazing clearance sale over at LOTV at the moment. They have 3 Art Pads for £10, or 3 8"x8" Paper Pads for £15, as well as lots of stamps still left in the 'Last Chance to Buy' section.
If you hurry over there now and stock up you can take advantage of the FREE SHIPPING (ends 6pm Wednesday)

Stocking Fairies

Hello lovely peeps.

As promised, I've got a Christmas card for you today.
The stamp I've used is one of those in the 'Last Chance to Buy' section on the Lili of the Valley website. There are still many lovely images left, and they're a bargain at £2.50. Grab them while you can because once they're gone, they're gone !

I've coloured the image with a mix of Graph'Its and promarkers (plus a Le Plume marker).
Skin: Blush, Sunkissed Pink
Hair: 1210, 1230,1270
Holly: 8120
Parcels: 9500, 9501
Stocking: Bluebell, BV725, 7210, Ice Grey2 and Ice Grey 4

After I realised I'd stamped my image a bit wonkily I decided to use this sketch to make up my card so it would look the right way up.

The placing of the embellishments also rather handily hides the smudge of Distress Ink I managed to get in the corner ;D

The poinsettia flowers were cut from white card with a Marianne die and I sponged Pumice Stone DI through the back of the die to get the veins. They were then shaped with a ball tool on a sponge mat to give them a bit of dimension.

The image is layered up with papers from the 'Snow Princess' & 'Bonnets and Bowties Solids' 8x8 pads by LOTV,  and I made the tag with one of the stamps in their 'Christmas Sentiment Tags' set.

I've finished the card off with snowflakes, pearls, ribbon and a jingle bell.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Super Striker

Hello lovely peeps.

Where did this week go? I blinked and missed it.

November is a busy month for us for birthdays, but I'm getting to the end of them now.
This one is for my cousin who's reaching his half century. He's into football so it really had to be 'Super Striker' (from Lili of the Valley

I've coloured him in neutrals so he looks a bit more grown up (mostly Graph'It markers).
Grass: 9201, 9203
 Kit: 9400, 9402, 9403, 9404
Football: 9500, 9506, 9508

The sentiment was stamped in Frayed Burlap DI using IndigoBlu stamps but it looked a bit wishy-washy so I went around the outlines with a black fineliner pen.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-

Paperchains

Hello peeps, hope you've had a lovely weekend.

I've taken the plunge and got some proper pencils (hubby kindly bought them for my birthday, isn't he fab?).

After hearing Nikky Hall rave about them last month I'd already decided I was going to get the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils. They have excellent light-fastness and are ergonomically shaped, so I thought they'd be the best to go for considering the problems I have with my hands.

I had a play with them last night because I wanted to brighten up a Gorjuss image that I had previously water-coloured with Spectrum Aquas. It was looking quite flat and I was a bit nervous about going over it again with watercolours in case I bobbled the paper or something. I was pleasantly surprised at how much difference the pencils made.

I've used the finished image to make up my sister's birthday card.

Ingredients:
7"x7" card blank from Anna Marie Designs
Daler Rowney watercolour card
'I found my family in a book' stamps by Gorjuss
Sentiment tag stamps from LOTV
Papers from Dovecraft 'Curiosity Corner' and 'New Leaf',
plus LOTV 'Enchantment' pad
Page torn from a book
Hessian ribbon
Cord by Hempotique
Buttons from stash

Butterfly Parcels

Morning lovely peeps.

A quick sneaky peek of my Mum's birthday card.

I cut the base shape from a folded sheet of strong A4 card. The 'parcels' are rectangles cut from Prima papers and edged with distress ink. I've tied ribbon around them before attaching to the card base.

I stamped and embossed the butterflies onto acetate with Versamark/white embossing powder and cut them out. They're attached with PVA glue at the centres and I've added a few gems for butterfly trails.

The flower was a pale pink shade that didn't match, so I coloured it with a Graph'It marker.

The tags are from the LOTV sentiment tags set, stamped onto matching papers.

Twinkle and Sparkle

Hello peeps, hope you are well.

Before I tell you about today's card, I would just like to give a warm welcome to my new followers. I'm very happy to have you :D

Today is the start of the new challenge at Crafty Calendar and the theme is Sparkle..Bling and Embellish!!  The prize this month is a fabulous goody bag from Brenda's Lace And Ribbon Specials. Doesn't it look amazing?

For my card I decided to start with some gorgeous papers from First Edition called 'Silent Night'.

There's some lovely glittered and foiled sheets in the pack so I've used them for my background, flowers (cut with a Marianne Poinsettia die), and also cut up a couple to make parcel shapes.

The gorgeous stamp is called 'Snow Buddies' from LOTV which I've coloured in with Promarkers (pastel beige, khaki, umber, cool grey 1,2,3,4 and budding rose).

For some extra bling I've added glitter to the petal edges with a Sakura Quickie Glue pen. I also stamped and embossed the sentiment tag (from the LOTV) with Versamark ink/Silver Sparkle embossing powder.

Some of you may recognise the 'snow' that the bear is sitting on - I've used a tumble drier sheet again :D

I would lke to enter my card in the following challenges:-

Delicious Sneak Peek

Morning lovely peeps, hope you are well.

http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/

Before I show you my card I HAVE to tell you about an amazing offer on the Lili of the Valley website. To celebrate Bonfire Night there is 40% off any order over £20. Wow!

So, onto my card.

This is my second card using the new Lili of the Valley stamp 'Cops and Cooks' which will be released on 10th November (you can get the new stamps early if you're going to the NEC this week).

I've coloured the image in with Graph'It markers:-
Hair and spoon: 1230, 1270
Icing: 7210
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170
Trousers: 5135
Hat/Top: 9500
Shoes: 9504, 9506

I cut the base card using an Anna Marie template and covered the front with papers from the Romance and Roses paper pad. I've inked the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink and added Shabby Blue embossing enamel.

The cherry is just a circle of card with one of the sentiments stamped on it, then coloured with a deep pink Graph'It marker (5250). I drew in a little 'dent' with a black fineliner pen and pierced a hole so I could thread some rusty wire through for the stem (the leaves are hand cut from the same paper pad as above). It's finished with a clear gem to hide the glue.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
