Furry Choir sneak peek

Hello lovely peeps and a warm welcome to my new follower :o)

There are some more adorable Christmas stamps being launched at Lili of the Valley early in September - this one is called Furry Choir.

I've had the digi version to play with and I printed it onto Simply the Best 250gsm card from Limetree Craft with a large margin on all sides. I coloured it with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Graph'Its and stamped on the sentiment at the top using the letters from the Retro Alphabet by My Sentiments Exactly.

I layered the image onto a 6x6 card blank with a Grand Merry Christmas die-cut (Memory Box) and drew in musical notes with a black Sakura fineliner to match the ones around the choir.

The snowflakes were made with a mix of Robert Adams/Chinese dies from Ebay, with pale blue gems in the centres.

In a Spin on Throwback Tuesday

Hello lovely peeps

This week's unblogged card features Leonie Pujol's In a Spin die.

First I used it to cut the outline in white card and glued this onto a cream textured card blank.

I cut the same shape from several different papers in the 'New Leaf' First Edition pad by Trimcraft and saved all the 'innie' bits [I saved the outlines for other projects, but there is no need to cut the whole design from each paper - you could use up all your little scraps of paper instead].

I glued the innie bits inside the gaps, with all parts of each circle having the same pattern.

The Best Wishes sentiment is from Leonie's Flight to Freedom stamp set, which I just stamped onto a circle of matching card.

Fur or Feathers at AYLI

Hello lovely peeps

I'm chuffed to bits to be appearing as a Guest Designer at As You Like It today. They have challenges once a fortnight where you have to choose between 2 options and explain why.
The theme this time is Fur or Feathers, and as my logo includes a cat it really had to be 'Fur' for me.

Strangely I don't actually have many cat stamps as I don't often come across one that I like, but I love this background from IndigoBlu - 'Kibble Kits'. I stamped it onto watercolour card with Black Versafine ink and coloured it with Distress Oxides (I splodged them onto my craft mat and picked up the colour with a damp paintbrush).

I fussy cut along the top around all the ears and trimmed the edges down before mounting it on more watercolour card.

There are larger cat stamps that go with this background but I don't have them (yet). Instead I've used one of the images from the Three Amigos set by Mama Elephant which has three adorable critters holding up signs.

The set includes lots of little words but I wanted some a little (OK, a lot) more cheesy so I printed some sentiments off onto watercolour card from my computer (Verdana font, size 11).

and stamped the cat around them.

I coloured in with the Distress Oxides again and cut out the cat with a little border.

Watering Can on Throwback Tuesday

Hello lovely peeps

Today's oldie features the Summertime stamps from Polkadoodles, which debuted on Create & Craft TV last June.

First I used the Bigz XL die 'Watering Can 3-D' (658454) from Sizzix to cut the pieces of the can from Kraft card. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink before assembling it.

I applied some green paint to the bottom of the can using a stencil brush and added flowersoft to imitate moss/algae.

The flowers and leaves were all stamped onto watercolour card and painted with Spectrum Aqua markers before cutting them out.  I attached them to the can with strips of clear acetate and filled the inside with coco fibre - you can see little wisps poking out of the top.

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you can drop in on Thursday when I have a very exciting GDT spot :o)

May the Forest be with you

Hello lovely peeps, and welcome to my new email follower :o)

Just popping in to show you the birthday card I made for hubby. He is a Star Wars fan so the sentiment that came with the Forest Friends stamp set from MFT is perfect :o)

I stamped several of the characters onto Neenah Super Smooth 120gsm and cut them out with a small border. I coloured them in with Promarkers and a white gel pen for the deer's spots.
Oatmeal, Burnt Orange, Fire Brick
Ice Grey 1,2 and Blender
3210, 3255, 3290, 9400, 9403, 9404 (Graph'Its)

Each animal was glued onto a stitched circle, die cut from First Edition papers. The fox and owl have little light sabres made from matching paper. The HB stamp is from an old Kanban set.

The sentiment was added using Darlin BTN font before I printed the design out onto Super Smooth 250gsm card. I coloured the image in with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Graph'Its

then added a little Glamour Dust glitter under his feet.

Motherly Love on Throwback Tuesday

Hello lovely peeps

This week's Throwback Tuesday make is a card that I made with one of Leonie Pujol's Entwined Heart dies.

When I first saw the Funky Heart Base it reminded me of those abstract porcelain figurines of a mother and her child, so for my card I decided to sketch some faces inside the heart.

I kept the rest of the card very simple. The heart and 'Love' (from the same set) are cut from pink Adorable Scorable card, with cream AS for the base and banner. A little organza bow in the child's hair makes her look a little more girly.

If you would like to recreate this for your personal use you can download my drawing on my Freebies page.

Dotty About You on Throwback Tuesday

Hello lovely peeps

This week's unblogged card is using one of Leonie Pujol's Entwined Heart dies.

The inspiration came from the lovely dotty design in the Pretty Borders stamp set, which I've stamped all the way around the edge of the card.  I coloured in a few of the dots with a black fineliner pen and printed off the sentiment from my computer.

The heart outline was cut from white card using Entwining Joy, from the Big Heart set. After glueing it onto my card with Cosmic Shimmer glue I filled in the centre with small black dots and added tiny dots all around the outside.

Brusho Sympathy

Hello lovely peeps

Today's card is one of those you hope you never have to make, a sympathy card.

I hope it brings a small crumb of comfort to my cousin who lost his 23 year old son this week, a vibrant and lovely young man taken far too soon.

To start off I painted some Pebeo Drawing Gum straight onto the Stylised Flowers stamp from IndigoBlu and stamped it onto some thick watercolour card. Once it was dry I sprinkled on some Brusho powders and spritzed with water.

I built up layers of colour until the flowers stood out from the background

then cut the piece down, stamped on a greeting from Woodware's Tiny Phrases set and mounted it on a 6x6 card with turquoise organza ribbon.

Fuzzy Friends for Crafty Calendar

Hello lovely peeps

The theme for this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar is

Shaped Cards

and we are sponsored by SheepSki Designs and Crafty Ribbons.

For my heart shaped card I used Fuzzy Friends from Sheepski Designs, which I coloured with alcohol markers and cut out leaving a small border.

The background papers were from a Cottage Arts digikit called Fall Flutter which I managed to buy before the Daisytrail shop closed it's doors on Monday. The sentiment was stamped using the Woodware Tiny Phrases set and the flower is from The Ribbon Girl.

I realised the teensy flaw in my choice of card shape when I came to take a photo of it, as it wouldn't stand up, lol. I cut a small section from the back of the card base to make it more stable.

Swimming By

Hello lovely peeps

Just popping by to show you the card I've made with one of the July images for the Bloobel Progressive Challenge - this one is Swimming Diver.

I pulled her into Craft Artist and added a background paper from the Starfish and Sandcastles Collection by Polkadoodles.

To make it look like she was swimming among the fishes I added one of the separate fish embellishments and placed it in front of her.

I added a sentiment using the alphabet from the Daisytrail Flora and Fauna digikit then rotated everything so that I could fold and cut my A4 sheet down to make the card base.

After printing off onto Super Smooth card I coloured the diver in with Promarkers
Hair: Cocoa, Cinnamon
Skin: Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush
Wetsuit: Black, Cool Grey 4 & 5
Flippers and Goggles: Marvi Y615, Tulip yellow, Buttercup
Bubbles: Tan, Duck Egg, white gel pen

More Cocktails on Throwback Tuesday

Hello lovely peeps

Oh how I wish this was me right now :o)

This week's unblogged make is a card that I made last summer with the VIPXXL Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles collection from Polkadoodles.

'Float Away 'Winnie was printed onto super smooth card and coloured in with Graph'It markers, then all of the embellishments were fussy cut from Design Sheets on the CD. The flowers were white so I coloured them to match the main image/background paper, and I doodled lines around the waves and main image with a black fineliner pen.
