Hello lovely peeps
Apologies for missing Throwback Tuesday this week - hubby and I have been in Crete on holiday and I wasn't able to get enough posts ready before we went.
We had a smashing time. The hotel was fab and the weather was gorgeous - about 34 degrees most days.
Our 'suite' had two balconies - this is the view from our bedroom balcony at sunrise
I was up early a couple of days to go jogging before it got too hot.
It was 24 degrees at 7:30 in the morning :o
This is the little cat who hung around our room. I managed to sneak her a few handfuls of chicken over the course of the week :D
There was very funky flora outside our building - purple border plants and a pomegranate tree.
We did venture away from the beach on a couple of days - this is me at Chania harbour.
Well, onto my card.
I had a little play today with the Bird Crazy stamps and dies by Tim Holtz. The best way to use them seems to be to stamp first (I used Black Memento ink), and then place the dies over the stamped images.
After die-cutting the pieces out I coloured them in with Promarkers/Graph'Its, which I matched with papers from the 'Boho Chic' 6x6 pad by First Edition/Trimcraft.
Face and tummy - Tea Green, Soft Green, G679 (Marvy)
Wings, tail and head: 5210, Poppy, 5245
Eyes: Ivory
Beak: 2105, Amber, 2140
The Cinnamon/Mustard were used to colour the leaf die-cut/one of the fishtails.
For the leaf I used one of the dies from an A5 X-cut set and the sentiment was stamped with one of the Small General Greetings from Lili of the Valley (still available as a digi)
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Dream Valley Challenges # 163 autumn colours
Inky Chicks #88 Use your favourite colour(s) - red is my favourite colour of all but I love the autumn palette
Southern Girls #169 Driving me dotty
Aud Sentiments Challenge #189 Use a two word sentiment
That's Crafty! Challenge Blog Fly away
Creatalicious Challenges #123 Anything Goes with optional leaves
As You Like It Challenge Favourite paper pad & why - Well I have lots of favourites, but Boho Chic from First Edition/Trimcraft is top of the list. I bought two pads of 6x6 and one in 8x8 as I love the autumn colours and the pad includes two beautiful floral patterns as well as lots of useful patterns/plains/dots. You can also tell it's my favourite pad by the fact that I use the papers really sparingly :D
Thanks for stopping by,
