Hello lovely peeps
For today's card I have used 'Tiny Townie Garden Girl - Violet' from Stamping Bella which I bought at the Sincerely Yours show in Taunton on Sunday. Isn't she adorable?
I decided to colour her in with my new Copic markers. Yes, I've finally taken the plunge and bought some more to join my solitary YR000, and I'm so glad I did. The brush nib on them is amazing, the tip is tiny so it's easy to get into fiddly areas.
I did make life a little difficult for myself by opting for the layering technique for my first Copic project instead of my usual blending. There is a challenge on the Copic UK Facebook group this month to use just 5 markers to colour your image, with a tutorial on how to build up the colour by letting your project dry between each layer.
Here's a close up of my colouring, which I'm quite pleased with for a first attempt. I used the layering technique on her skin, hair and dress. For the violets I scribbled some V09 (which is a very dark shade) onto acetate and picked up the colour with the blender pen so I could get lighter shades.
Other ingredients:
Studio Light purple 6x6 paper pad
Tag, Super Crescent die by Sizzix
Pumice Stone Distress Ink
Sentiment from Serena has a Sign set (Stamping Bella)
Lilac Organza Ribbon (Three Kings)
Tonic mini flower punch
Cosmic Shimmer PVA
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
