Hello lovely peeps, I hope you are well.
If you've not visited the playground before please pop over for a look. You'll get some great ideas for using up your scraps of paper/card as well as the chance to win some fabulous prizes.
The prize this time will be the 'In a Spin' die by Leonie Pujol, plus an alphabet stamp set.
As part of Leonie's design team at the time we received free versions of the dies and were asked to make something that they could use for a pack shot. When the dies were released I was so excited to see my card on the packaging that I bought extra copies, lol.
The main point of the challenge is to use up your scraps/snippets and the biggest snippet on my card is a piece left over from a 12x12" paper from the Citronella collection (K&Co). The rest are from my bag of scraps (mostly DCWV Linen Closet and Trimcraft In the Clouds)
The great thing about the 'In a Spin' die is that you only need tiny scraps to fill in each background area, though you do need to run it through your machine several times to get all the different parts cut out.
I cut the main frame twice from white card stock to raise it up slightly and then infilled with all the little cut outs.
For the greeting I used the 'birthday' word in the stamp set and then spelled out fishes with the letters (use a pencil to add a straight line to your card so it easier to line up the letters, you can rub it out once the ink is dry).
As a finishing touch I added a few fish/seahorses that I cut with an old Impression Obsession die set 'Mini Nautical'

ReplyDeleteI know it took a while to find coordinating papers to fill those tiny areas with, but the effect was well worth it. This is totally adorable! Everything coordinates really beautifully, and cutting the white base out twice does make every element stand out. Nice job!
