Steam Train Z fold

Hello lovely peeps

Another commission to show you today - the brief for this one was 'Steam Train'.

I started by stamping the train from Tim Holtz's On The Railroad set onto watercolour card with black Archival ink - I dabbed some of the ink off the steam part of the image to make it fainter.

I covered up most of the image with paper then sprinkled on Sandstone and Dark Brown Brusho powders before spritzing with water.

For colouring in the gaps I added some glycerin to diluted Brusho on my craft mat and picked it up with some Cut N Dry foam.

The next step was to colour the sky but first I painted the train in with Pebeo Drawing Gum.

I dabbed Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink onto my craft mat, spritzed with water and then dragged the card through it to pick up the colour (then repeated to build up interest).

After removing the drawing gum I painted the train with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and added a few shadows to the steam with diluted Grey Brusho powder.

Now to make a card with it :o)

I attached the 'painting' to the inside of an A5 landscape card blank and then folded the front of the card blank in half to make a Z fold. The paper on the front is also by Tim Holtz (which I've been hoarding for about 10 years) and I added a pocket with another piece of it to slip some tickets into.  I went over the blue tickets with a lavender coloured Copic pen to make them match the colour of the sky a little better.

The lettering for the middle panel was cut from white card with Tim Holtz Typo alphabet dies and coloured with Promarkers.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
