Hello lovely peeps
I realized I haven't shared this commissioned wedding card with you yet. I was asked for a personalised card for the couple's big day in May, possibly featuring a winnebago or a sausage dog (their's was going to be part of the wedding party). Well it was going to be hard to make a winnebago look romantic, so I went with the dog theme.
Apparently I chose well, as the bride loved it and said it was 'the best card ever'. This made me feel top of the world as you can imagine.
It's a three panel card which opens up to reveal a really long sausage dog :D
It was fairly straightforward to make. A search on Google turned up this free sausage dog template, which I printed off enlarged and slightly elongated. You can find it here.
Since I planned to have the dog stretch over three panels of the card I cut the template in two and inserted a middle piece, then used the template to cut everything out of 200gsm Simply The Best card.
For the card base I glued two 6x6 cards together and then attached papers from the Songbird 6x6 paper pad by Prima.
All the dog sections were edged with Tea Dye distress ink before being glued onto the relevant parts of the card base.
For the front I added flowers and leaves cut from the paper pad with mini Tonic/Papermania punches, with Pearl Cosmic Shimmer PVA added to the flower centres.
In the middle section I highlighted their initials with silver heart charms, with organza ribbons tied in the top.
The last section has the wedding date stamped onto a topper (also from the paper pad) with Rich Cocoa Memento ink and Docrafts number stamps.
Both of the sentiments are from the Handwritten Phrases stamp set by Lili of the Valley.
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Simon Says Stamp (Wed) Anniversary/wedding
Scrap from your heart #22 wedding
Brown Sugar #279 wedding or party
Let's Craft & Create Challenge #138 Anything Goes opt punch it
Love to Scrap #110 Marry me
As You Like It Challenge favourite card base/shape - I love doing three panel cards, they look like a normal card but then you get the surprise of them opening up (plus you're basically only decorating squares, so nice and straightforward)
Thanks for stopping by,
Katrina x
