Countdown to Candy

Hello lovely peeps, welcome to my 100th post. Yay!

To celebrate this momentous occasion (!) I will be posting some blog candy this evening, so don't forget to come back later.

But first, here is today's post.
This is the advent calendar I made for a recent competition entry.

I started off with a cardboard box that I saved from when I bought some LOTV Art Pads.

I painted it all over with some white gesso and then covered it with some decorative papers (all edged with Frayed Burlap DI).

There was already a slot in the base, so I cut a 'tab' into another piece of cardboard for the upright.

I coloured in the adorable 'James in the snow' stamp (from Lili of the Valley, retired) with my Promarkers and fussy cut around him.
Fur: Pastel beige, Khaki, Umber
Hat: Ice Grey1 , Ice Grey 2,  9100 (Graph'It)

To make the flip calendar I cut rectangles of card, covered them with co-ordinating papers and added numbers that were cut with a QuickKutz alphabet die. I used my Cinch to punch holes along the top of each 'page' and bind it.

I added some ribbon (from my stash) and tumble drier sheet for texture

To create the flower I dabbed Versamark ink onto some old skeleton leaves and covered them with white embossing powder.

I glued the flip calendar onto the background board to make it more stable.

Then I realised that it would no longer fit into the base for storage. Oops.
