Bunny Thanks for LOTV

Hello lovely peeps

Woo hoo! It's launch day at Lili of the Valley, with lots of new trios and also some animal stamps being released. I've made a card with one of the three images in the new Easter Trio.

First I dragged the bunny into CraftArtist and enlarged it to fit a 6"x6" card.

The bunny is then digitally 'paper pieced' - I dragged on a material from the 'Steampunk Emporium' digikit and used the eraser tool to remove everything around the bunny

Next I dragged on a paper from the Cherry Blossoms collection at Nitwit and punched a large hole in the centre to fit the circle surrounding the bunny.  I also used the eraser tool again to remove the bits that overlapped the flowers around the edge.

I printed this off onto some smooth card and ran my scissors around the edges to roughen them up.

The small flower was coloured in with Promarkers/Graph'Its (Budding Rose, Rose Pink, 8115, 8120) and I coloured bunny's nose with Khaki and Burnt Umber.

The bottom of the circle and the daffs were coloured with some shimmer chalks and I added Glamour Dust glitter for a little bit of sparkle. The 'Thanks' ribbon is from my stash.

Anyone for Pancakes

Hello lovely peeps, and welcome to my new follower :o)

Are you looking forward to Pancake Day next Tuesday? Hubby and I usually have some savoury pancakes followed by the traditional lemon and sugar for 'dessert'.

Today's card is my entry into Bloobel's Progressive Challenge on Facebook, using Bake Me a Cake. It comes with a free sheet of baking ingredients but I've drawn on a stack of pancakes with a black fineliner pen.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and outlined the whole thing with Graph'It 9201

I've layered the topper up on Kraft card and K&Co Citronella papers.
The sentiment was done on my computer with Troutkings font

Pawprints for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

The inspiration for this card was one of the stamps in Leonie's Inky Notes set - it looks like a pawprint. The sentiment was lurking somewhere in long-term storage in my brain so I've no idea where it came from, but it was perfect for what I had in mind.

I did the wording on my computer using the font "Mister Sirloin BTN Rare" then just printed it onto white card and cut it up, finishing off with my usual trick of going round all the edges with a black fineliner pen.

I cut the Funky Heart Base from black card and the Interlocking Love Overlay from white card. The pawprints are stamped over the inner part of the die-cut with black Memento ink. I left the outer part white and entwined it with the black heart before sticking it all down onto Kraft card.

I masked off most of the card with some paper and stamped the pawprint all over the bottom to make a border. One of Tim Holtz's mini crazy dogs stamped onto Kraft card finishes it off.

Doodle Drop Hearts for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps, and a very warm welcome to my two new followers :)

I've used a mix of Leonie's products on this card, they all work so well together.

First I wet some watercolour card and painted on some dollops of colour using Leonie's orange Sparkle Pen (from the Bright Lights set).

Once that was dry I stamped the mini hearts from the Doodle Drops set a few times with Versamark, sprinkled with Detail White embossing powder and heat-set.

I had previously (very carefully) cut one of the hearts away from the rest and this is what I used to add little accent hearts, stamped using Distress Inks.

I cut the Funky Heart Base from white shrink plastic and shrank it with my heat gun, then cut the 'Love' die that comes with it from black card and glued it over the top using Glossy Accents.

One of the Pretty Borders stamps was used around the outside of the card - I stamped it in black Memento ink so I was able to easily rub it off the white embossed hearts.

The 'you' is from Leonie's From The Heart stamp set.

You can just about see the sparkle from the glitter pen in this shot, it looks much more blingy in real life.

Easter Trio for LOTV

Hello lovely peeps

A bit early I know, but this is 'Easter Trio' - one of the gorgeous new stamps being launched by Lili of the Valley at the end of February. They will be available in rubber or digi versions.

I've used the digi versions, which I printed at 50% onto Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin paper, and coloured them in with Promarkers/Graph'Its.

I cut them out leaving a little border and layered them onto lacey circle die cuts
The papers are by Nitwit and the sentiment is from the Simply Sophisticated set by LOTV

Create with all your heART for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

Just popping in to show you how I made this colourful heART card for Leonie's sale shows on Hochanda TV today.

First I cut the Funky Heart Base from watercolor card and then placed a few of the Art masks over the top of the 'innie' bit.

I dabbed over with twisted citron Distress Ink

then over-stamped with two of the patterns from Branching Out

masking off as I went with sticky notes

Next for the outlines - I sprinkled Crimson Brusho powder onto more watercolour card

and spritzed with water

then repeated with Purple Brusho

These were used to make the heart outlines, cut with the Funky Heart Base (purple) and Hearts and Swirls Overlay (red) dies

I wanted my sentiment to go around the edge of the heart, so I used the die-cuts as a template to draw in pencil on my card blank roughly where I wanted the heart to go.

I drew another line in pencil a couple of cm away, to stamp the sentiment along.

The sentiment is from one of Leonie's older sets called Flight to Freedom. I cut it up to make it easier to separate the words.

Counting Sheep for Leonie

Hello lovely peeps

Leonie is on Hochanda TV this evening to kick off a new One Day Special - there are great offers on some previously released masks/stencils, dies and stamps.

I wanted to show you how I made my sheep picture using some of the products on offer.

To start off,  I sprayed some Stick and Spray onto the back of one of Leonie's 'Imagine' masks and positioned it on an 8x8 canvas board.

Next I made a pale blue paint by mixing Titanium White and Cobalt Blue acrylics on my craft mat and sponged it over the top two thirds of the canvas, leaving some white spaces for clouds.

I sponged some Docrafts Artiste Acrylic 'Soft Green' over the bottom third for the grass and built a fence with one of the line stamps in the 'Doodle Drops' stamp set - I used scrap paper to mask off part of the stamp when doing the sides and diagonal. You can see the join if you look closely but I'll be painting over this later.

Now for the sheep :o)

The Tangled Tails set has a fab stamp that you can use as the body for a sheep, but I needed to paint this shape onto my canvas first before overstamping with the pattern. I stamped the pattern onto some card and cut it out so I could use the card as a sheep mask.

I positioned this over my canvas and sponged through some Titanium White acrylic paint

Once the paint was dry I pressed my little finger into a Black Memento Ink Pad and 'stamped' the sheep heads. That took me back to my school days - I used to love finger painting :o)

The ear is one of the stamps from the 'Arrow to the Heart' set and the legs were done with the end of one of the 'Pretty Borders' stamps

Once all the sheep were done I stamped over the top of the 'Imagine' mask with various stamps

The word really pops when you take the mask off.

The flowers along the bottom were all stamped using the Tangled Tails set.

The yellow flowers were stamped with Versamark and sprinkled with yellow embossing powder, with the centre overstamped in Black Memento and white Enamel Accents added when dry.

The red flowers were stamped in Black Memento and coloured in with a Poppy red Promarker, and the tiny white flowers were filled in with a white gel pen.

I added some leaves and grass around the bottom of the fence with a leave stamp from the 'Doodle Drops' set and a black fineliner pen, painted with a mixture of Soft Green and Jungle Green paints. The fence was painted in with Burnt Umber acrylic paint.

To finish off I put the canvas in an 8x8" white picture frame.

Leonie will be back on Hochanda tomorrow (Thursday 9th February) at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm.
You can watch Hochanda live online, Sky channel 663, Freeview 85 or Freesat 817.

My teamies have some new makes to show you too, so please visit them if you can. The links to their pages are in my sidebar   ------------------------>

Scribbly Flowers

Hello lovely peeps

My sister lent me a fabulous set of PaperArtsy stamps by Jo Firth-Young (JOFY12) before Christmas, I thought that it was about time that I used them :o)

First I stamped the big flower over some patterned paper with Black Archival ink.

I bent the stem a little before stamping it again, then added some smaller flowers

I stamped the flowers and some leaves onto papers from the Love & Romance Signature Collection by Sara Davies, then cut them out and paper-pieced them.

The sentiment (from the Woodware Tiny Phrases set) was stamped onto more paper from the pad and I layered everything up on 7"x5" card blank with some white organza ribbon

Love Challenge at LOTV

Hello lovely peeps

There's a new challenge on the Lili of the Valley Facebook page and the theme this month is Love.

For my inspiration card I've used the rubber version of 'Meant to Be'. It's available as a digi stamp too and if you're not into colouring it is now available in the new 'Simply Print' range - these are digital versions of the old coloured art pads, brilliant if you need to make a quick card.

I stamped the image onto watercolour paper with black Versafine and coloured it in with Distress Inks splodged onto a tile. The colours I used were shabby shutters, vintage photo, tattered rose, stormy sky,  antique linen, victorian velvet, and black soot.

The sentiment is from the lovely Sketchy Wishes stamp set.
I layered up a 6"x6" card blank with First Edition papers and added some die-cut hearts and foliage. It's finished off with some dotty white organza ribbon.
