Pretty Petal

Hello peeps, hope you are well.

My card today is a twisted easel, made with Petal from Lili of the Valley. She has been coloured in with promarkers and decoupaged (sorry, I can't remember which ones - I coloured her ages ago).

The papers are from the 'Country Lady' and 'Antebellum' 8x8 pads, also from LOTV.

The white flowers were made with the 'Black-eyed Susan' Bigz die from Sizzix and the red ones were created with the Marianne Design Creatables die 'Branch and Flowers 1'

The greenery is pressed/dried leaves. I was dead chuffed to find a freezer bag full of mixed leaves and flowers at a car boot sale for £1, what a bargain :D

Just swinging by

Hello Peeps.
Hope you are all well.

Just a quick one today, I have to clear a bookcase full of crafty stuff from the landing so we can get the furniture out of the back bedroom & get new carpet in. No doubt I will get distracted several times when I find things I'd forgotten I had  :D

I made this card a few weeks ago when I was doing summer themed cards.
The boy is a retired LOTV stamp called Hanging Around and I've coloured him in with Graph'It markers.

I also used LOTV papers from Father Knows Best (water), Romance and Roses (right hill and sky), Heartfelt (grass) and Bonnets and Bowties Solids (left hill).
The letters were stamped with a My Sentiments Exactly alphabet set called Classic.

The dies I've used are Branch by Marianne, Icicles (grass) by Die'sire and Clouds by Joycraft.

Challenges:-
Country View - Summertime
Creative Knockouts-  Anything Goes

Thanks for swinging by to visit me today :)

Design Collective - Frosty Fun

Hello lovely peeps.

Here's my second August card for the Lili of the Valley Design Collective.
The stamp is called Frosty Fun and the papers are from the Simple Joys 8x8 paper pad.

First I stamped Frosty Fun onto white card, cut it out with a circle die and then coloured him in with Promarkers and Graph'Its. I sprinkled Shabby White frantage powder around the edges of the circle and then heated from underneath.

To make the slider mechanism I first cut a slot into a piece of card (diagonal because he's going downhill). It's about 1.25cm wide. I also cut a quarter circle out of the corner of my card.

I cut a piece of matching card 2.5cm by 21cm and folded it in half. This is the 'pull' bit of the mechanism.
Draw lines on the back of the card where this will sit and attach strips of 3D foam either side - this will keep the slider from straying out of position.

Slide the 'pull' strip in place and then turn the card over. The end should poke out from the corner so you can pull it. Put some 3D foam on the other end of the 'pull' strip. This stops the pull strip going too far back in/coming too far out, and is also where you attach your topper.

I added some die cut trees to my card before I attached my topper - I used two different sized Bigz dies. The tree edges were distressed with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and more frantage powder.

Telephone Ted

Evenin' all, and a warm welcome to my new followers.

I decided to make a phone book with my Cinch machine this time.
Luckily I've got the perfect LOTV stamp to use - he's called Telephone Ted - isn't he cute?!

I've also used a paper from LOTV's Country Lady 8x8 pad and the large brown dotty paper is from my stash (possibly My Minds Eye). The lettering is done with the Retro Multi alphabet stamps from MSE.

Sorry, I didn't make a note of the Graph'It colours I used since I was crafting with my little sis at the time. The telephone is probably coloured with 5220 and 5245.

Challenges:-
The Ribbon Girl - Any Image, Anything Goes
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes  As you like it - Favourite 2 embellishments & WHY
(buttons and ribbons - can't resist buying more even though I have boxes full)

Hubby and I are on holiday now for a week, so see you again next weekend.

Life's a Beach

Morning peeps, hope you are all well  :D

I have some exciting news this morning. After coming first in the Father's Day/Masculine Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges back in June with Happy Fathers Day, I was invited to appear as a Guest Designer.
I've made this card for their mid-way challenge reminder today - the theme this fortnight is 'Life's a Beach/Summer Fun'.  I'm so thrilled - please pop over and have a look, and thank you to everyone at Crafty Boots for the opportunity.

I've used an old stamp called Rockpool Fun! by Sugar Nellie, which has been coloured in with Graph'It markers and Pastel Beige/Khaki Promarkers for the rocks.

The background paper is from the Antebellum 8x8 Paper Pad from Lili of the Valley.
I've overstamped it with 'Starfish Sentiment' stamp by My Sentiments Exactly in Butterscotch Adirondack.

I drew the crab shape myself and cut it out of coral coloured card, then inked the edges with Ripe Persimmon distress ink. The jellyfish body is cut from turquoise card using an old magazine template for icecream. The edges are inked up with Evergreen Bough d.i. and I've attached strings of 'pearls' for it's tentacles.

I've finished off with jute cord, white sinamay ribbon/mesh and buttons from my stash. The sentiment stamps are by Woodware and Debbie Moore.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Sugar Bowl - Anything Goes

Garden Planner

Afternoon peeps, and a warm welcome to my new followers :)

I made this to sell at the summer fayre last week since I've heard that *some* people are into gardening. Definitely does not include me. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a nice garden as much as the next person. But the back ache, broken nails and face full of spiders are not for me.

The topper is from the Vintage Boys Art Pad and the green paper is from the Heartfelt 8x8 Paper Pad ,both by LOTV. I've stamped carrots on the pale brown paper with a Woodware stamp and brown Memento ink.
The lettering is done with Retro alphabet stamps (My Sentiments Exactly) onto white card with doodled edges. The skeleton leaves and ribbon are from my stash, the bark is from an old pot-pourri packet!
I used my cinch to punch the holes & bind the book together.

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Simon Says Stamp - Make a Plan
Crafting When We Can - Ribbon/Twine/Washi
Without words - Harvest Home (Fruit & Vegetables)
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog - Use ribbon or twine
