Dear Diary

Evening peeps, hope you are well.

I have a sneaky peek for you today of one of the fab new LOTV stamps coming out in July.
The character is called Odd Dog and this stamp is called Handwritten.

I cut some papers from the new Romance and Roses Paper Pad and edged them with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, then glued to the front of a pink notebook.

I stamped Odd Dog with Black Memento ink and coloured him in with Graph'It markers

I then cut him out and positioned him so the blue paper becomes his desk.

The lettering is made by stamping onto rectangles of another Romance and Roses paper with MSE Multi Retro alphabet stamps. I edged them myself with a black fineliner pen.

It's finished off with some coloured adhesive gems and some punched flowers.

Challenges:-
Papertake Weekly - Trio-Tastic
Dream Valley - Girly

Happy Fathers Day

Morning Peeps, hope you are all well.

Just a quick post before we head off to the in-laws.
This one is for my lovely Father-in-law.

My FIL collects Giles cartoons so I going to try and write 'Giles' on the front of the paper that the bear is reading (notice I've put the 'before' pic on here in case I muck it up!).
The stamp is Armchair Bear from LOTV (retired) and the sentiments are from Set 26 - Simply Sophisticated. The letters are stamped with a  See-D Typewriter set and the papers are from Trimcraft.

Challenges:-
 The Ribbon Girl - MASCULINE

Loves Rubberstamps - Masculine Theme
Creative Inspirations - Male Creations

For those of you lucky enough to still have your Dad, make sure to spoil him rotten on Sunday and let him know how much you love him.

Lili of the Valley Christmas Offer

Evenin' all :D

There's a HUGE 25% off all Christmas goodies on the Lili of the Valley website at the moment.
I've made a little card to show some of the lovely items on offer.

Start by sprinkling some Shabby White frantage powder around the edges of some kraft card and heat from underneath to melt. Scrape the card edges with your scissors to roughen them up and attach to a 7" x 7" white base card.

Cut some panels from the Krafty Christmas Paper Pad and roughen the edges of those too. Layer them up on your card with snowflakes cut from white card. I used an All Occasions triple snowflake die for the smaller ones. The large one was a magazine freebie.

Stamp James -Snow Angel onto white card with black Memento ink and colour in with alcohol pens.
I used Graph'Its 3150 & 0000 for his fur, 9400 & 9401 for his hat/coat/boots. Also Promarkers Ice Grey 1 and Ice Grey 3 for the scarf and snow.

Stamp a couple of tags from the Christmas Sentiment Tags set onto white card and cut out.
Colour the edges of the topper with Frayed Burlap distress ink then attach the two tags with brads.
Layer it up on the base card with mesh and buttons.

Challenges:-
Crafting by Designs - June Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Animals
Loves Rubberstamps - Spots and Dots

I'm off to a craft show tomorrow and will be meeting one of my LOTV Teamies. Super excited!

Hope you enjoy your weekend,

Eggs-tra special

Hello Peeps.

Today I'm introducing the third and final new paper pack from Lili of the Valley, Sunny Side Up.
(For the chicken body I used a paper from Solids - Always and Forever, but the rest are from the new paper pad.)

When I saw the chicken papers in this pack I decided immediately that I wanted to make a chicken hanging. That was the easy part - I then had to spend a couple of hours tracking down suitable shapes on the internet (since I can't draw for toffee). Thank you to Andrea Gourley for the wing shapes and the inspiration behind my idea.

To save you the hassle, I have done up a template which you can download if you want to make one yourself (right click on the picture below and choose 'Save Image As...')
The 'wattle' is actually an upside down heart cut with an x-cut die so I can't include it in my template for copyright reason (sorry). As an alternative you could cut out an extra wing in red and cut off one of the scallops.

On my way back from the supermarket, I had another idea for putting her on a card (as you do).
So I've made this today too.

I shrank the template down to about two-thirds the size to cut the shapes this time. For the body I went with plain white card run through a dotty embossing folder. I went over the edges of all the shapes with antique linen distress ink and then hand drew the stitching on with fineliner pens. The eggs are cut from the solids paper pack using a sizzix egg die.
The sentiment was done on my computer.

Challenges:-
 Crafty Catz - STITCHING
Crafts Galore - Anything goes
A gem of a challenge - Something Blue
The Ribbon Girl - Animals
The Paper Shelter - Make it colourful

Well, I have to dash now - the Canadian Grand Prix is on.
Go Lewis !!!

Enjoy your evening,
Katrina x

Shop til you drop

Morning Peeps.
It's a beautiful day here in Somerset :D

This is the second card I've made with the new Lili of the Valley papers that are being launched today. This pad is called Dress Shoppe.

I have used a retired LOTV stamp 'Emma - Shoes' (ST190). She's stamped onto Joanna Sheen card with black memento ink and coloured in with Graph'It markers (plus a couple of my favourite promarkers)

I cut several handbags from the papers using a die (Quickutz?) and I used tiny pearls to decorate then 'hung' them on silver brads.

I stamped the letters using the My Sentiments Exactly 'Multi Retro' alphabet stamps onto small rectangles of white card (I added the outlines by hand).

 Side view:-

Challenges:-
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Loves Rubberstamps - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - For A Friend!

I'll be back soon with a make using the new 'Sunny Side Up' papers, I just need to get a template sorted for you all.

Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing.

He loves me ...

Morning peeps, some exciting news today!

To tie in with the Summer Special Day at their shop on Saturday, Lili of the Valley are running a challenge on their Facebook page. It will run til Thursday and has the theme of 'Summer'.
There's fab prizes on offer, why not have a go?

I've made my first Design Collective card for June on the Summer theme. Daisies look so pretty growing in the lawn during the summer and who hasn't tried this fun little test on their first young romance?

I started off by colouring in the lovely 'James - Daisy' stamp with Graph'It markers

I layered this onto a paper from the 'Always and Forever - Solids' Paper Pad
Then I wrapped some ribbon around one of the papers in the 'Country Meadow' paper pad and stuck it to my base card (7" x 7"). I ended up having to twist them because I'd attached them the wrong way round, but by happy accident it looks much better this way!

For the daisy petals I printed off the words on my computer and drew petal shapes around them before cutting out. I shaped them a little before attaching with silicone glue

The flowers are made with more Country Meadow papers and a punch, with white glitter dots for the centres.

Well, let's hope this will encourage the summer weather to arrive soon!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:-
Creative Inspirations - Pastel Shades
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - Too cute
A gem of a challenge - Flowers
As you like it - Favourite Decade/Period in life - My favourite period was childhood summers - long sunny days playing in the garden, country walks, visits to the beach and, of course, icecream!

Hope you have a lovely day everyone,
Katrina x
