Black cats

Morning peeps, thanks for stopping by.

A 'clean and simple' card today, one of the rare occasions when I spend less than an hour on a card :)

Recipe:-
Stamp the 'Good luck' from the Just to Say set by Lili of the Valley in black Memento ink.
Doodle some lines around the card edges with a black fineliner pen.
Make sure you let it dry for 5 minutes before adding the cats, which are die-cut from black card (die by Impression Obsession). I used zig two way glue (my first attempt with PVA glue seeped out and stained the card when I wiped it off!).

I have used a similar design for my partially sighted friend June who is 90 today (way to go, June!) because the high contrast of the black and white is easier to make out. I also put the cats on foam pads for her card so she could feel them more easily.

I'll be back at the weekend with my first LOTV card for May.

Have a great day,
Katrina x

Bottoms Up

Hello lovely Peeps, it's another glorious day here in Somerset. It's very hard to choose between crafting and sunbathing, so a bit of both today (I've tried combining the two but suntan lotion stains don't really add much to the look of a card, lol).

Today's card is one I made for my Father-in-law's birthday, which I am entering into the Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog - Cute as a button

I have used:-
'Cheers Bear' stamp from Lili of the Valley - coloured in with Promarkers (sadly he's retired but he is one of my favourites)
'Bottoms Up' stamp from the LOTV Statements - Fabulous set stamped in grey Stazon onto
tracing paper (I glued the ends onto old book pages then tore them off when the glue was dry).
Papers from Daisytrail (the grey one is splattered with water)
Numbers were cut on my Craft Robo, coloured in with a fineliner pen and blue Promarkers
Buttons from my stash

Thanks for stopping by,

Young at Heart

Hello lovely peeps.

This is the card I made for my Grampa who was 90 on Tuesday.
He's always had a lovely garden and even though he can't do much gardening himself now he still manages to produce smashing rhubarb.

My hands weren't up to much colouring in last week so I stamped the gardener with white detail embossing powder. The leaf background was created with a Sheena Douglass A4 folder - I rubbed over the debossed side with green distress ink.

I used
Vegetable Patch stamp
Stitched Alphabet
General Greetings small
Papers from Antebellum, Beach Bliss and Father Knows Best 8x8 paper pads
all from Lili of the Valley

On the Edge Torn Notebook die
Sizzlits Gardening Tools dies
from Sizzix

Sheena Douglass Embossing Folder - A Little Bit Oriental - Maple Leaf

I'd better go and have my lunch now, my stomach is rumbling at the thought of rhubarb crumble :D

Have a lovely weekend everyone x
